This past weekend we had the pleasure of participating in the 2019 IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's. As a team, Marlena Books raised over $500.00 for Alzheimer's and dementia research and programming. We had a great time walking with individuals living with and impacted by Alzheimer's and dementia.

Hundreds of community members from across Kitchener-Waterloo came together to raise awareness and show support for the many vital programs that assist individuals living with dementia. There was a strong presence from many local long-term care homes, programs such as Memory Boosters and the Young Onset Dementia Association (YODA), and family teams. It was heartwarming for us to be surrounded by so many individuals who are motivated to improve the quality of life for individuals living with dementia.

For our team personally, we walked and raised funds to celebrate our Nanny, our uncle, our community, and our customers. It is humbling to walk alongside other people who have lived similar paths as ours, dealing with the grief associated with dementia, and celebrating the special moments. As a region, KW raised close to $10000.00 for Alzheimer's and dementia, something certainly worth celebrating.
